FRENCH JOURNALIST SPENDS WEEK AS A MUSLIM WOMAN

NIX TO NIQAB

BEHIND THE VEIL

thelstcrusade.org

A French journalist who posed as an Islamic woman and wore a full-length niqab in public for five days to report on the experience says she felt isolated, humiliated, and disgraced.

Elizabeth Alexandre, who reports her findings in this month’s issue of the French publication Marie Claire, wrote the article in an effort to deal with with the controversy surrounding the niqab, or Islamic face veil, that is raging in France.

“I wanted to feel the fabric on my cheeks and forehead and see the world from this tiny slit. I also wanted to know how the world would see me,” Alexandre writes. “I felt as if I am inside a tent. I couldn’t see my feet and when I walked the garment rolled around my legs and I had to slow down. I was terrified I was going to fall on my face.”

The French journalist draws three conclusions from her week under the veil. She says the veil is impractical and uncomfortable; that it creates isolation; and that it arouses self-consciousness.

“Being totally covered made me feel that my body is a disgrace. All men around me turned into sexually obsessed beasts that want to devour me. It is then that I felt I need the veil to protect me from this imminent danger. For the first time in my life, I felt I was a sex bomb and a source of sin,” Alexandre maintains. “This secrecy gives free reign to everybody’s imagination and makes people wonder about what the hidden parts look like.”

Ironic that “free” countries want to dictate what a woman can and cannot wear

    burka, niqab, hijab = nazism

paedophile, murderer, thief, schizophrenic mohammad said:

“Men are superior to women on account of the qualities with which Allah has gifted the one above the other, and on account of the outlay they make from their substance for them. Virtuous women are obedient, careful, during the husband’s absence, because Allah has of them been careful. But CHIDE those for whose refractoriness you have cause to fear; REMOVE THEM INTO BEDS APART, and SCOURGE THEM: but if they are obedient to you, then seek not occasion against them: verily, Allah is High, Great!” (Rodwell’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

“Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, ADMONISH THEM and SEND THEM TO BEDS APART and BEAT THEM. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely Allah is high, supreme.” (Dawood’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

“Men are in charge of women, because Allah has made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah has guarded. As for those from whom you fear rebellion, ADMONISH THEM and BANISH THEM TO BEDS APART, and SCOURGE THEM. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High Exalted, Great.” (Pickthall’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

“Men are the managers of the affairs of women for that Allah has preferred in bounty one of them over another, and for that they have expended of their property. Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding the secret for Allah’s guarding. And those you fear may be rebellious ADMONISH; BANISH THEM TO THEIR COUCHES, and BEAT THEM. If they then obey you, look not for any way against them; Allah is All high, All great.” (Arberry’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

“Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, ADMONISH THEM, and LEAVE THEM ALONE in their sleeping places and BEAT THEM; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great. (Shakir’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband’s) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whom part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, ADMONISH THEM (first), (next), REFUSE TO SHARE THEIR BEDS, (and last) BEAT THEM(lightly*); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance) for Allah is Most High, Great (above you all). (Ali’s version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)

@anonymous; Quran is sent directly from Allah (God), unlike Bible. Thus, Muhammed is not the writer of Quran. Plus, Quran has one and only version (again, unlike Bible – or should I say Bible of Constantine the Pagan?).

Islam is heavily misunderstood and misinformed to people to create a antiSemitist-like opposition. For example, the clothes which is included in the article is NOT actually a part of Islam. Like the horrible Fethullah Gülen Movement, those clothes are also absent not only the Holy Quran, but also the “hadiths” (quotes) of Muhammed (the real hadiths). Quran only tells women to cover the genitals, the clevage area and legs above the knees (basically, the parts between a woman’s neck and legs, except the arms). Did you know that some Muslim women’s clothing “turban” is actually adapted from Catholic nuns? If you don’t, you should have a research about Pavlus of Tarsus and its so-called “conversion” to Islam.

I know that this blog is strictly opposed to Islam (since its name is “The Last Crusade”) but writing about the wrong uses of Islam (such as Islamist Fethullah Gülen Movement and some journalist spending her week not as a Muslim women but as an Islamist women) only leads to more and more hatred.

  5. Dear Turk,

We at the Last Crusade are eager to publish all viewpoints, that should be obvious by our open-comments policy.

  6. Moonshadow says:

Though I belive that 99% of what’s published here are lies….gotta respect that last crusade allows dissagreement…..and turk, you have a messed up overlysecular view of islam dear, whoever’s been teching you doesnt know what they are talking about…but now I understand why I get suprise salaams from turkish girls that are overly made up and wearing mini skirts. tragic that so many have lost the proper understanding of islam in turkey. there are clear hadith that state a woman must cover all but hands and face

  7. Haya says:

The only time that G-d communicated directly with us was when He gave the Torah to Moshe Rabeinu and he gave it to the Children of Israel.

  8. B says:

Islamic values are in complete conflict with western values. Freedom of thought, religion, the right to criticize/freedom of speech, equality of men and women. Under full Sharia adulterers are beheaded or hung in public executions, thieves hands are cut, people guilty of sex outside of marriage 100 lashes and death if one is married; all done publicly in the local park. I cringe when I see Muslim women dressed in 7th century costumes pushing baby carriages in my city. The problem is they are NOT tolerant of us they want to spread Sharia…especially the more fundamentalist ones. The fundamentalists terrorize moderate Muslims into conforming to their strict rules. Islam is a political system not just a religion and the law is the religion the religion is the law. There never has been separation of religion and state in Islam.

  9. It’s not easy getting in touch with shame…we all have this. How much love creates life through sexuality, either physical, spiritual or mental? Hopefully we find a way to stay balanced and still be productive. The choice between marriage and finding personhood come to grips with our purely human needs. Men and women are obsesses in whatever mode it seems. Simple respect is hard to find. We live in reaction to each other, and evolution or devolution of ideas and culture arises.

I see the purity here in this picture, probably because of my association with the color white and containing one’s aura. But to wear something as this in periods of life as one choses is a very different situation from the everyday stifling of real existence.. a little like straight jacket. The lies, it’a always the lies that reveal the real piety. A small child given to a man?? A servant perhaps? Slavery has to end…how helpless these mother’s are. Where ever ‘the Mother’ is slain, so is love. I do not want to condemn these people because I do not understand. The rage at nature that masks as passion play never seems to end. Where is the compassion? I know many Muslms that live in the US, who are not as bound, and still have wonderfully bonded families. The God of violence is not mine. Puja for the sake that all ignorance may vanish. Puja burning hatred in a small way.

Fear of disease is surely not solved in this way. Men and women are obsesses in whatever mode it seems. Simple respect is hard to find. The lies, it’a always the lies that reveal the real dirt of piety. A small child given to a man?? A servant perhaps? Slavery has to end…how helpless these mother’s are. Where ever ‘the Great Mother’ is slain, so is Divine Love. I do not want to condemn these people because I do not understand. But monkees walk with their sexual organs outside as men. They are much filthier in their habits than women. Women are usually responsible for the hygiene and modes of social adaption which reflect health. Lust never dies until social institutions create balance in the order. We are all responsible for this…and it is expensive.

The rage at nature that masks as passion play never seems to end. Where is the compassion? I know many Muslms that live in the US, who are not as bound, and still have wonderfully bonded families. The God of violence is not mine. Puja for the sake that all ignorance may vanish. dear Moonshadow, – in Turkey- we some of the Turkish girls, we don´t just wear mini skirts we wear even bikinis, we have nice climate and covered by the sea so what do you expect? we like to drink cold Turkish beer in summers, and we love wine too, we have catholic or jewish or even Taoist, budhist friends, boyfriends. Some of us live with their boyfriends so you can guess we have sex before marriage too.
Do you think, anyone could succeed to put our brains into a tent?

  12. Moonshadow says:

the behaviour of turkish harlots bother me even less than americans…do what you want. I’m not the one who will be punished for it. “put your brains into a tent?” is that some wierd turkish saying? it translates poorly in english

Modesty is within and without-inner and outer.Belief and consciousness of Almighty God is in the heart and then manifests outwardly with good actions based on sincerity. When spirituality is truly felt in the heart, inner heart experiences contentment and love. The heart becomes alive with remembrance of God Almighty.

The veil without reality of belief in the depth of heart is empty.Modesty has value if we recognize its purpose.

  14. Scott says:

@turk The quran is sent directly from allah,(?) oops, except all those abrogated verses and the “satanic verses”! And muhammad is not the writer of quran? LOL…please… it be better to say that muhammad was the writer, he just got it wrong the first time, that’s why all those abrogations… but it doesn’t matter anyway.
(maybe a goat ate some of those other pages… how many was it now? 215?)

And the idea that there is only one quran is laughable, it seems that different sects have different versions….

It’s a myth that the quran hasn’t changed in 1400 years…. and of course you have to say (the real hadiths) as opposed to which ones?

It’s just a matter of time now before this False Religion joins the ash heap of history right next to Zoroastrianism, and personally I say the sooner the better and good riddance.
