A statement from the Turkish government promises “unprecedented and incalculable reprisals” against Israel for the Israeli Navy’s seizure of the Marmora, a Turkish vessel, which was leading a fleet of ships through the Gaza blockade yesterday.
The statement has received the support of Hezbollah, an arm of the Iranian government, and Hamas, the Palestinian network.
Such measures will not be confined to diplomatic censure.
Reports from Ankara, the capital of Turkey, state that the government, which remains under the control of the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP), is planning to continue pounding the Israeli blockade with more flotillas that will be escorted by Turkish warships and fighter jets.
Israel merchant vessels moored outside Ashdodport have been instructed to sail into port and take shelter in case of missile attacks from the Gaza Strip against Ashdod and Ashkelon.
In expectation of an outbreak of war, the Turkish chief of staff General Ilker Basbug has been recalled to Ankara from a visit to Egypt. Greece has since halted its joint exercise with Israel in protest against the naval action.
Israeli warplanes have headed west over the Mediterranean on Monday morning in support of the still ongoing Israeli commando operation aboard the Turkish Marmora, the scene of violent clashes between Israeli troops and the 600 “peace activists,” some of them armed.
The Turkish government, under Prime Minister Recep Erdogan, reported 15 dead aboard the vessel.
Israeli army spokesman, Colonel Avi Beneyahu, called the incident “an act of terror on the high seas.”
Far from being a humanitarian mission, according to Colonel Beneyahu, the flotilla was sponsored personally by the Turkish government to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza and permit arms supplies and terrorist to reach the Gaza Strip in an unrestricted manner.
The Israeli army spokesman said that the Turks aimed at provoking a widely publicized international incident with fatalities in order to show Israel using strong-arm tactics against unarmed peaceniks.
He further maintained that the Turkish government refused to heed warnings that the vessels would be prevented from entering Gaza Port and rejected Israeli offers to ferry their aid cargo overland to the Gaza Strip.
An estimated 19 activists were killed battling with Israeli troops, and dozens more were injured. Ten Israeli soldiers were wounded, two critically.
According to the Israelis, passengers, armed with knives and iron bars, mobbed the Israeli commandos as soon as they landed on the deck of the Marmara. One passenger allegedly snatched from a sidearm from an Israeli soldier and proceeded to fire at the commandos.
In the midst of mounting tensions, the Arab League Council has called for an emergency meeting today to demand Egypt to end its joint embargo with Israel on Gaza.
Egypt will face pressure to end its joint embargo on Gaza with Israel at the Arab League Council meeting urgently Tuesday, June 1. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas demanded the session.
Demonstrations against Israel continue to rage in Syria, Iran, Turkey, Jordan, and Greece.

Excellent..that should be very helpful. Of course the “media”, or propaganda arm of Islamic Jihad, will try to ignore it. Israel needs overwhelming media force…a dozen cameras….a dozen microphones recording the Islamic war cries…especially the genocidal hate rants against “the Jews”.
I am still puzzled why even Israeli media are calling the Jihad fighters on the Turkish boat “demonstrators” or “activists” or “passengers”. Since when do “passengers” plan and carry out an assault on soldiers, in a carefully coordinated attempt to kill them by beating, shooting and stabbing them to death?
No, these are Jihad Fighters….soldiers themselves, men with a mission to KILL.
Israel should also pre-empt the whole effort and shout to the world that this is a deliberate attempt to start World War 3, coordinated with Iran, Syria, etc. Let the world disporve it. But say it loudly, NOW…before the flames go higher.

When you read about the establishment of the organizator group which is “IHH” humanitarian help they call it, you don´t have to watch any video to understand with which purpose they went there. But unfortunately media and the government is manupulating people so much that people don´t want to see the truth. They planned it, they went there and they succeeded to take attention and play the poor.
When the government changes (hopefully next year) and the Islamists are gone, Turkey will be having good relations with Israel again like we always did. My only concern is jewish friends living in Turkey, i hope nothing happens to them.

The plight of the Palestinians is controversial. First of all, they should NEVER have voted in Hamas as their governing protectors. Hamas controls Gaza, there is no negiotiating with Gaza people until they can control the blood thirsty Hamas who have vowed to rid the earth of all Jews.
Palastinians sadly teach their children at an early age that martyrdom for the sake of their homeland is the way to die and many look forward to this.
Lastly I want to mention to you that Gaza has a tunnel that brings in supplies to their area. They are not starving by any means, but they do not have much needed building supplies to rebuild because of the weapons ban that Israel has. Many tools related to construction can be turned into weapons

First the incident occured in international waters , thats a no no to attack or board anyone vessel by law . Second if i were on a ship and soldiers came out of nowhere from the sky at night coming down from helicopters fuck yea i would grab a stick , a knife and a sling shot to protect myself and so would you too or anyone else would do the same and that is the truth . The legality of blockades as a response to acts of war is not subject to serious doubt. When the United States blockaded Cuba during the missile crisis, the State Department issued an opinion declaring the blockade to be lawful. This, despite the fact that Cuba had not engaged in any act of belligerency against the United States. Other nations have similarly enforced naval blockades to assure their own security.
The second issue is whether it is lawful to enforce a legal blockade in international waters. Again, law and practice are clear. If there is no doubt that the offending ships have made a firm determination to break the blockade, then the blockade may be enforced before the offending ships cross the line into domestic waters. Again the United States and other western countries have frequently boarded ships at high sea in order to assure their security.
